Back in the glory days, before the last recession, when the world was awash with cash and boat shows were held at Earls Court, I first came across Boatshed holding one of their famous Fizz at Five sessions. The English Court of Appeal has for the first time, recently established an absolute rule that an assured who tells a lie or relies upon false evidence to support an otherwise valid insurance claim, will forfeit the claim entirely. In other words, even if the lie or false evidence is immaterial to the insurance claim, an underwriter or insurance company will be able to successfully deny cover.

In a previous article I focused on the what the vendor needs to do to sell his boat successfully. It’s now my obligation and indeed pleasure to share my thoughts of what an astute purchaser needs to do in order to get himself a “good” deal. It may be a bit chilly out on the water in the winter time but there are some plus sides to sailing in the colder months. Here’s a couple of things we love about sailing in the winter.
Boatshed have teamed up with professional drone photographers AltiVision to offer a completely new perspective on boats for sale. Launching the products at the PSP Southampton Boat Show, Neil Chapman commented “We have previously done some aerial photography of boats but helicopters and light aircraft make the costs prohibitive. By utilising drones, we hope we are able to bring this service to many people selling their boats with Boatshed”.
