'IPA' Independent Pre-Sale Assessments of boats....
This year we are introducing '70 Point Checks' of used boats for sale- similar to the approach taken when selling quality used cars., We are working with independent, professional marine surveyors and members of the Marine Inspection Association who will undertake a preliminary assessment and provide a thorough written report on a boat when it is offered for sale. This will not replace "Full condition Surveys" that are undertaken during the Boatshed Yacht Brokerage process, but it will enable owners to demonstrate the condition of their boats, reassuring potential buyers, from the moment they place the boats for sale. This will give boats we sell a real competitive advantage in the marketplace!

Boatshed Performance.com; Josh Hall joins the team....
In the last 7 months Boatshed Performance has completed sales on five Class 40s and one Open 60.
Josh Hall has recently taken a broker role with Boatshed Performance. Josh has had a long career in single-handed racing (including the Vendee Globe)and has project managed numerous offshore campaigns and organised several round the world races for Class 40s.
Josh's experience in the performance yacht market brings an extensive knowledge of Open60 and Class40 racing yachts and global connections for all types of performance yachts.
Our performance credentials, however, are not restricted to out and out racers. Boatshed Performance also handle the sale of racer cruisers, especially those that have been equipped for serious racing in competitive one design and IRC fleets. Josh and his team understand the added value to such boats and how to sell them.

This is an opportunity to partner alongside one of the largest yacht brokerage businesses and websites in the world and for our partners to generate additional sales of their products and services.
At Boatshed we strive to offer our customers an unrivaled user experience and customers can find and access all relevant yacht products and services at the click of a button, whilst they are in the process of buying a boat.
On a Boatshed sales listing we detail equipment and service categories containing information about the boat for sale, such as sails, engine, rigging, navigation equipment, gallery/domestic, deck hardware, deck gear, electronics, safety equipment (additional headings include moorings, transport, tuition, VHF and insurance, etc). For these product/service categories we are inviting leading marine sector suppliers and service providers, which can offer products and services to our customers that are relevant to each boat listing, to join our Preferred Partners Scheme.
For example, under 'mainsail' category is a link stating 'click here for a quote' showing our preferred sail maker partners. The customer will be able to choose a recommended partner and simply 'click' for a sails quote (with a further incentive of a discount offered by the partner). Our system will then send all of the customer's details and information about the boat, etc to the preferred partner, enabling the partner to contact the customer direct to discuss his/her requirements and provide a quote.
